A place of priority

To help you place The Quoin, this story begins in Lutruwita/Tasmania.

Venture inland, and you’ll reach the Midlands, a region with native woodlands and grasslands so critical and so threatened, that it’s been named one of Australia’s 20 Priority Places.

Protecting the region’s last remaining intact ecosystems is critical — and a fleeting opportunity.

From the heart

The Quoin is located in the Midlands’ heart, with three endangered animals and three critically endangered ecological communities identified on the property to date.

These species are the property’s lifeblood.

Reimagining regeneration

However, while the property is home to vibrant old-growth trees and native grasslands, other sections were historically cleared for grazing and cropping, and are now damaged and declining.

Our mission is to regenerate these damaged ecosystems, validating new business models that inherently build our wealth of natural capital, and protecting the Midland’s irreplaceable biodiversity.
